Car paint protection film - Explained.
Paint protection film is a virtually clear protective film which offers layers of invisible protection to your car’s paintwork. It can be applied to selected areas, focusing on protecting vulnerable areas like the bonnet, front wings & wing mirrors, or it can be applied to the whole car.
XPEL paint protection film also has self healing properties. This is incredibly useful when your car is hit by at high speed by a small stone or a piece of road debris. The film absorbs the damage and when exposed to warmth (e.g. the sun or a hair dryer) it then self heals to it’s optically clear and perfectly smooth gloss finish.
The same process works for swirls, surface damage, chips, scratches, acid rain, UV exposure, bird droppings, environmental elements and contaminants.
XPEL Stealth (with it’s matte finish) and XPEL Ultimate Plus (high gloss finish) films constantly work to protect your paintwork, preserve it’s pristine condition and maintain the residual value of your car.
…and don’t forget! All our XPEL PPF work is backed up by a 10 year guarantee.
How much is paint protection film?

Paint Protection Film for your Car
Our 10 Step Installation Process.
We pride ourselves on providing a comprehensive and meticulous installation service for your PPF.
Here’s a detailed guide to the steps involved, including some key information for anyone considering paint protection film for their car.

Step 1 - Initial Inspection
Our team begins by conducting an initial inspection of your vehicle to assess its condition, checking for any existing damage or imperfections.
This is important because any scratches or dents can impact the quality of the final result.

Step 2 - Wash, Clean & Inspect
Your car is then taken to our dedicated wash bay, which is equipped with all the necessary tools to ensure that the vehicle is cleaned thoroughly and safely.
We use specially formulated cleaning agents such as tar and glue remover, fall out remover, and snow foam to remove any contaminants from the surface. The car is then dried using a touchless air dryer to prevent any scratches or swirl marks.

Step 3 - Remove Swirl Marks
If your car has any minor scratches or swirl marks, we will perform a paint correction to ensure that the surface is smooth and even before applying the paint protection film.
This step is crucial because any imperfections on the surface can become more visible once the film is applied.

Step 4 - Film is Cut Ready for Application
Using our state-of-the-art computerized cutting machines, we create the templates for the paint protection film based on the specific make and model of your vehicle.
This ensures that the film fits perfectly on every surface, providing complete coverage and protection.

Step 5 - Vehicle Surface is Prepared
We then move your car to our climate-controlled detailing bay, where we carry out a rigorous preparation process to ensure that the paint protection film adheres properly to the surface.
This includes using specialised cleaning agents and a clay bar to remove any remaining contaminants that might prevent the film from adhering properly.

Step 6 - Paint Protection Film is Installed
Our highly trained technicians then apply the paint protection film to each panel, taking care to wrap the edges wherever possible for a seamless fit.
We use a technique which allows us to install the film in large sections, reducing the number of seams and creating a smoother finish.
The film is designed to be almost invisible, preserving the original color and gloss of your vehicle's paintwork.

Step 7 -Climate Controlled Environment
After the film has been installed, we let it settle for 24 hours in our climate-controlled room.
This allows the film to bond properly to the surface, ensuring that it provides optimal protection.

Step 8 - Ceramic Coating?
If requested, we can apply a ceramic coating to your car's paintwork to provide an additional layer of protection against UV rays, dirt, and grime.
Ceramic coating is highly durable and provides a long-lasting, high-gloss finish.

Step 9 - Final Checks
We carry out a thorough quality control check to ensure that the installation has been carried out to our exacting standards.
We check for any imperfections, bubbles or peeling of the film, ensuring that your car is protected to the highest possible standard with a clear coat of invisible protection.

Step 10 - Hand Over Day!
We hand over the keys to your newly protected and polished vehicle.
With Autotrilogy's paint protection film installation service, you can rest assured that your car will be protected from scratches, chips, and other types of damage for years to come.
